I used the search feature to death for this topic, but none of it really answered my question. So here it is, I have a 2005 mini 14, and I wanta put a muzzle brake on it. Is this one legal to own in this ******** ****** state?

Yes it is legal to put a muzzle brake on the mini. Make sure it is not a flash hider though.

NOOO that one is not legal. Its a flash hider! Remember a muzzle brake has the front end opened up to about the diameter of the bullet and have holes for compensation. FH open up at the front sometimes in a cone shape (like in that pic) w/ slots. Just remember this. Open=bad Closed to diameter=good.:D

I got a letter from JP Enterprizes stating that the brake
I had installed pinned and soldered on mine was
in fact ruled a muzzle brake by the ATF. I carry that
paper with me everytime I take my goofy looking
gun with me.Though it would be hard to classify
this brake as a flash hider...>

I believe JP offers a much cleaner looking brake
that has a letter declaring it a brake by the ATF.
You might look into it. I believe it's the BC Tactical brake.
Nice looking. >

Can it go on the new 2005 mini 14 though? If not, what can?
