Well...if it's not listed and it can be rigged 12276.1 compliant then you're good to go.

Keep in mind that your FFL would need to receive the rifle in a 12276.1 acceptable form. It's not legal for an FFL to take delivery of a rifle in violation.

12276.1. (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following:
(1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(B) A thumbhole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.

(2) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.

(3) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 30 inches.

There is a waiting list for either, at this point.

Why must we be tormented with such beautiful weaponry that we could never legally own.... is the state so hell bent at turning us all into crooks.

The only way I can see these 2 weapons being used properly is to cut off the pistol grip completely or load em like that california legal AK on atlantic firearms.

We strongly need to push for that ability to purchase weapons deemed assault by having permits.

The upcoming Sig 556 is perfectly CA legal providing that it's rendered non-violating before crossing into occupied California.

While fixed-10rd-mag options and gripless options are workable, do note that the Sig 556's upper receiver is the serialized part (or, I've at least been told this 3 times by reliable folks, and I seem to recall that dimly on the one I held at the SHOT Show) - and if you remove the gas piston and close off the gas port, you have a nice manually-cycled rifle (nonsemiauto) capable of accepting detachable mags and having a pistol grip. Some kind of small removable device may be readily fashinonable so as to close off the gas port.

Too bad it doesn't have a rotary gas plug like some FALs have to close off the gas for running a GL system.
