What are my options for a single shot bolt action .22l rifle? When I was a kid in boy scouts we used to shoot them. Now I would like to pick one up for my safe. What are my options? Thanks

Also what options do I have for 22l revolvers ?

Guess it depends on what you want to do with it
Scoped
unscoped
both
true singleshot or magazine option
most reasonable rifle would be a CMP Kimber 82G
they go from 400 to 600
they come with great iron sights and can be scoped

For single shot bolt action, look toward C&R .22s... Remington model 510 Targetmaster is one example. If you had a C&R license, you could buy one on an auction site; and have it delivered to your door.

I think Henry makes some single shot bolt rifles or as littlejake suggested look at some C&R's. I have an old Savage (Stevens) 15B that I bought as a kid that is great. I think they can be found in the $125 to $150 range.

For revolvers, are you looking at SA or DA? If SA then it is hard to beat a Ruger Single Six. They are a tad pricey but they are built like tanks and will last forever.

Take a look at the Savage Mark I series. They have one with a wood stock and open sights, its drilled and tapped for scope mounts as well. The FVT model has a nice peep sight set up with a synthetic stock. They are good shooters you will want to take them shooting rather than leave them in the safe.:)

You can also look into getting a single shot adaptor/magazine for a magazine-fed bolt action rifle.

If you are looking for new there are a number of youth rifles that can be re-stocked. For some I know you can
purchase "single" shot adapters like the CZ 452/453/455 and I think you can get one for the new Marlin XT
series also.
