I'm looking for the best place to get Bushmaster 10 rounders.

What is the general consensus on 10 round mags? Are Bushmasters the best, or would you guys recommend something else?

Thanks

Promags from Midway USA. About $18. Looks like a 20 round mag and is nicely made.

Are they BATF approved? Do they have to be?

get the bushmaster if you want a 20 round look a like, or get the C Products if you want a 30 round mag body, and be done with it.

BATFE doesnt give a crap about 10 round mags.

Bushies are nice, check the boards: ARF, sturmgewehr.com, gunbroker you can find some pretty good deals on mags.

Metroshot has some nice 30/10 mags- that is, they are 10 round magazines, but have the length of a 30 rounder. It's all for looks, but they are very nice. He used to have Colt 9 rounders whcih were pretty good too, I dont know if he still carries them though.

Personally, I dont care for the DPMS clear 10 round mags, or the Promag 10 rounders either.

BARF does not GAD as your not in Kansas anymore Toto your in the PRC and here in the PRC only what the DOJ says in regards to mag capacity counts.

since the federal AW Law sunseted in 94 there are no more restrictions in the federal zone about mags and AW's.

Only individual state laws matter in that respect.

By state law you are limited to 10 rounds in a fixed mag config if you had normal cap mags prior to 2K then you could use them either in a grip-less build rifle or like in a M1A without a flashider.

He did and most likely does still have the colt 9 rounders but I recently purchased one of those from him and it wouldn't feed worth a damn.

It also had weak spring pressure and did not have the anti tip follower.

I guess there are some things better left to others to MFG.

I thought colt mags were the best I think I was wrong.

I'll probably get flack for this but I have had good experience with National magazines 10 rounders. They're cheap, like less than $9.00. Give them a try.

I have both Bushys and National mags, they both work good but the Bushys are longer.

Thanks for the help, guys. I went with the C Products 10 rounders.

Now I'm just waiting on my Stag-15 lower, Monsterman grip, and J&T Distributing 16" bull barrel kit to show up :)

Thats odd, I have one that I bought from Pat, and it works fine. Luck of the draw I guess. I still prefer the Bushies though.

You will be happy with the C Products mags. I've had flawless performance with mine, I added a MagPul lumpy plate to mine also.

If Promag's rifle mags are anything like their CZ mags, stay away!

What's the purpose of that plate? Cushions the mag when you drop it?

Are you going to drop the 10 rounders or have a fixed mag? Just curious, as you're going with a 10 rounder and Monsterman.

No I don't drop them on pupose. But they do provide a little more room for grabbing hold of without the sharp edges.

I'm going to run an A-2 stock, Monsterman grip, and non-fixed 10-rounders. For the kit, I specified a 16" stainless 1x8 twist bull barrel, flat-top upper, Picatinny rail gas block, round free-float handguard, standard trigger group and parts kit. My Stag-15 lower has been shipped to the FFL, I just have to start the DROS on it. I got an Eotech 511 with quick-detach mount from GG&G. I'd prefer an A-1 stock but J&T doesn't have them, so I may swap the A-2 out for one later.

It'll look something like onley11's rifle without the muzzle brake and with a stainless barrel:

Sorta like this one but with a Monsterman:
