Anyone own an M4?

What ammo is the best to use and what does the military use?

Wolf Slugs are inexpensive, fun and surprisingly accurate.

Get some Winchester ranger, low recoil, 00 buck or fiochi 00.

00 is 7-9 shots that are 9mm size(00 3" mag is 15 but thats really not necesary).

So one shot of 00 buck will be equivilent of shooting someone multiple times with a 9mm. Don't use slugs, they can over penetrate and fly into your neighbors house.

Getting shot with a few 9mm lead balls is very different from getting shot with a few 9mm JHPs though ;)

FYI, the wolf is dirty and may clog your gas system, and the ranger low recoil stuff(designed for pump) may not reliably cycle your gas system. Your best bet is to get plain jane 00 buck from the local gunstore, 5 rounds each brand. Measure the longest distance in your home and patern the buck from each brand with YOUR gun on some butcher paper at that distance. Find the brand with the tightest group and buy all you can (from THAT LOT) from the same place you got the 5.

Also grab 10 or 15 breneke "knock out" slugs, these should no be your primary HD round but are good to keep on the butstock or side saddle carrier for three reasons. One, you may have to take a precise shot(BG holding a knife to a loved one). Two, you may end up outside for some reason(trying to escape if the odds look bad). Three, you may need to penetrate cover(BG hides behind big screen TV or the Fridge.)

As has been said buck is far better for indoors, the shock to the nervous system from being hit 9 times(from more like a .38) AT THE SAME TIME, it actually far greater than being shot 9 times with 9mm JHP rounds, or even .500 rounds. Buckshot is the only sure one hit stop(99% ;))
