Any idea if there are off list receivers that use this Galil parts kit? Would be a cool project if legal and one had the funds?

one can dream..

I think I saw a place that was selling 80% Galil receivers a while back, but I haven't heard of any completed offlist receivers for Galils...

Yeah I know I shouldn't be up this late but this post really caught my eye. I've always kinda fantasized about owning a Galil ARM but they were just too expensive before the ban (and for the most part still are!). However, there are indeed off-list Galil recievers. Off the top of my head, Vulcan Armaments (yeah not exactly the best manufacturer) makes the V-73 http://www.vulcanarmament.com/cgistore/store.cgi?page=/new/catalog.html&setup=1&ida=86&idp=0&his=0&cart_id=5515747.2780 which is an off-list Galil clone reciever.

If you could find someone to sell you the bare reciever, and you purchased that parts kit... you could just have yourself a Cali-Legal Galil rifle if you pinned the mag and stock.

Why would you have to pin the stock if you already had pinned the mag ?

I agree that the folding stock would have to be pinned if the rifle was built with NO PG.

But if it is built with a pinned mag how is the pinned stock necessary?

TO Gram

Is there a necessity to use an off list Galil receiver or Didn't Harrot require the law to list by make and model ? and since Roberti Roos list "Galil all" which isnt correct to do cant we just bring in real Galil rifles ? I see where they listed FN FAL and FN LAR but as someone said in another thread they did not list the Galil by make and model.

Correct, Harrot requires listing by make and model. Galil (all), is not an acceptable listing. However if you would like to be the test case and get that thrown off the list be my guest :D .

Doesn't OOW (Ohio Ordnance Works) make clone Galil receivers and some 922(r) compliance parts? Spendy, I know....

Hmm... they've got good prices on FAL recievers too. Anyone know if their FAL recievers are any good? At some point in the future if registration appears likely I'll have to invest in some of ORF's Galil and FAL recievers...

Have heard thru the grapevine that the only thing better than a DSA is a Imbel and anything better than that would be a actual FN receiver there is a guy on FAL FILES that is or was asking 1700 for his but its a type 3. Not too desirable that was the later design imported the better ones were like the G series shown here. ALthough this one is one of 21 GL G series guns they were asking 14,500.00 rescently on gun broker for this work of art.
