There's no such thing as a 'cheap' 10/22. I've seen stripped receiver/actions sell on gun broker for $175.

It's come to the point where just the receiver, bolt and trigger pack are worth the full price of the rifle, and the barrel and stock are throw away items. Maybe if you're lucky you can get $20 each on ebay or something, though they usually sell for $30-$45 shipped for the pair.

If you're lucky you may find one for $150 or so. If you're really lucky you might score a deal. If you have a Walmart in your area that sells the Wallyworld special, you'll get it for almost the same price you'd pay for a used one.

Good luck.

You guys think $158 before tax and Dros for a 95% 10/22 is a pretty decent deal???

if you're going to build the ultimate 10/22, why start with a beater? start with one of these:

Yeah, Ive taken a look at those, but I guess when I said I was looking to build "my own" ultimate, I ment one that I could build around my budget.

I got my 10/22 at Turners probably 6 months ago, I think it was $130 before DROS and such.

Big 5 has them on sale from time to time at $119. SImilar to the Marlin 60 but it has a evil detachable magazine instead of the tube magazine the M60 has.
