Someone has one for sale here. Never heard of them before. Polymer upper receiver. Discontinued by Midway. It is the same thing as the Chiaippas?

Sorry cant help you as far as input on that product. I will say, at that price why not just get a dedicated ar-15 rimfire? big5 has the excellent colt m16 rimfire @ 400 i believe.

I've got two Colt M4 .22's. I also have a couple of M-261 USAF .22 conversions and a CZ-22 dedicated upper.
What caught my eye is the word "Stoner" as in Eugene Stoner. Just wondering if he has anything to do with this conversion.

Note that the "Stoner" upper doesn't have an ejection port cover and, as noted, has a plastic upper. CMMG's upper is metal, has an ejection port door, and costs $85.04 less (on CMMG's website). Since I sincerely doubt that Eugene Stoner had anything to do with the upper in question, I wouldn't waste the extra 85 bucks on it.

I think "AR-Stoner" is just a name Midway uses as a kind of house brand.
