There is a gun control poll at www.pressdemo.com asking that in the wake of the Tucson shootings should gun control get more restricted.

It is in the right side frame below the fold. Go there and vote.

I think they are trying to dumb it down so they can sway statistics even further.

The Press Democrat is owned by the NY Times. The poll itself doesn't surprise me but the format is kind of a puzzler. The must be looking to play with the results.

With my vote it is now:

Absolutely 22%
Yes, to some degree 12%
Not really 7%
No 17%
No, they're too restrictive now 42%

Number of votes cast: 807

If Absolutely and Yes to some degree add up to more than 50% they can claim a majority of Americans want more gun control. If the two no's amount to less than 50% they can claim only a minority of Americans don't want any gun control. As it is right now, the poll cannot really be used by the antis.

Here is another poll (cut-paste to link): Is it time for stricter gun control?

That poll is over but the results say 43% voted NO they're already too restrictive. Winning by a landslide.

Well the two No categories combined are over 60%. It will be kind of hard for the antis at that newspaper to spin it. Also, more votes went into that poll than other polls listed.

The Press Democrat editorial writers will probably ignore the results of the poll.

If the results were anti-, they would spout the public support for more restrictions.

Since the results are in support of pro-gun rights, they'll remind us that the poll was "not scientific".

Diane Freinstien is pushing legislation for a national 10 round max magazine law nationwide.

When is this ***** going to have heart failure?
