I know about Woodward.
What I'm seeing with that particular pistol, is a swivel double barrel pistol.
I can't clearly read the oval trade symbol on the action plate.
Can you tell us what it says?
Also, can you tell us what the bore diameters are?
I'm guessing that they are both smooth bores.

Can we see it in a photo next to something (like a ruler or graph paper) for size comparison?
Also, with point and shoot cameras and gun photography, flash is not your friend.
Try shutting the flash off and getting some good ambient light on the pistol.
Outdoors on an overcast day is great.
Like I said in the message I sent you, send a note to James Purdey and Sons in the UK.
They control the records of the Woodward name, if there is a sales or build ledger page with that pistol on it, they'll be able to tell you what the pages say.
What is the nature of your friend's interest?
Does he want to sell it?
Does he want to shoot it?

Has your friend contacted James Purdey and Sons yet regarding the sales ledger information from the old Woodward paperwork?
I'd be interested to know.
