I've never felt a Stag lower but I have a 6.8SPC marked Ameetec lower and the finish is like glass. It is very smooth.

Stag lower is a matte type finish. CMT/Stag upper is a perfect match. I have an 6.8 marked Stag ready for assembly thanks to another board member. From my understandeng my lower came in the first shipment in Dec 05. Yahoo, 6.8.

As far as I can tell the only reason to get a 6.8 marked lower is so that you're rifle is all matched up. Any .223 or 5.56mm lower reciever will also build an accurate 6.8mm rifle. Although there's certainly something to be said about the cool factor of having a 6.8mm lower to round out your collection (or for some people hoarde heh).

Well yeah, I plan to build my 6.8SPC lower as a 6.8 :D . At some point.
