Given you stay within restrictions of having a bullet button and 10 rd mag, would a stock such as this be legal within California?

Not that I would really want to spend 10 rounds all in one place, nor do I like the thought of my stock sliding around, but it's an option.

That's wicked cool but would you want to rely on that during an actual gun fight?

It should be, I don't see why not. Although the ATF could rule that it is illegal down the road.

They eventually will, it's just a matter of time. Just like the shoe laces you are wearing.

Not saying they wont in the future, however, the following link (http://slidefiresolutions.com/BATFE-Slide-Stock-Review-Le.jpg) shows the BATFE have already ruled it's not a regulated part.

California law prohibits items that facilitate full auto style firing, even when the trigger resets between shots as in the originally posted videos.

A multiburst trigger activator means a device designed or redesigned to be attached to a
semiautomatic firearm which allows the firearm to discharge two or more shots in a
burst by activating the device, or a manual or power-driven trigger activating device
constructed so that when attached to a semiautomatic firearm it increases the rate of fire
of that firearm. (Penal Code 12020(c)(23).)

Additionally, the Akins Accelerator had a similar concept to what I see in the originally posted videos:

Sadly, the ATF ruled the Akins accelerator illegal. A letter from Bill Akins elaborating on the situation can be found here:http://jpfo.org/filegen-n-z/reds-akins-open.htm

So, it would appear that such items are illegal in California under State law, and have a significant chance of being ruled illegal under Federal law.
