View Full Version : Need help putting new Enfield extractor.

For my No.4Mk.I*.....

I know how it's supposed to be oriented into its slot on the bolt head, with the curvy part on the back, and the little bump on the top...

I've spent an hour on it with no success. Tried using some tools and whatnot, but maybe Calgunners have tricks or tips to offer?

Well, at least I know this won;t be a s_itty spring like the last one it came with.

You simply force the extractor in at an angle. Line it up with the notch and push the end of the extractor with the screw hole against that little spring flap thing. Be aware that the teeth of the extractor will bite into you. Push it in all the way and you are done. I could do this in less than 30 seconds!

I will be passing through Salinas on 101 tomorrow if you need help.

Thanks, but I got it now (two hours laters...sure I was doing other stuff)

I ended up just doing something wierd with some needlenose pliers. It wasn't that hard to put it, but it was like a puzzle at first.

I'm happy, everything works now!
