1. Does anyone know if ANY part of 962 limits a person from legally buying handgun ammo while outside of California and then simply transporting legally obtained ammo into Cal?

2. Does anyone know if ANY part of 962 allows for a LEO exemption to the limit of 50 rds per month.

If any has an answer to these question please post links or quote cited text please. Thanks.

Thanks for the link.

If what I am reading is correct, the fingerprint is by transaction as the 50 rounds limit was amended.
Is this also correct to say we'll have to fingerprint rather we purchase 1 round or 1000 rounds?

Thanks.

If you buy ammo from a vendor/retailer, you will have to thumbprint...any amount of ammo...No 50 round limit...not amended, stricken from the law.

Welcome to CalGuns Hideandseek!

Lately we've been getting posts almost identical to yours several times a day.

It gets a bit tedious.

Is there any way that you could spend some time searching through the Forum before asking your questions?

The 50 round limit was part of the AB962 as originally proposed, but was compromised out long before the bill passed and was signed into law.

Will C&R holders be exempt from this?

Will C&R holders be exempt from this?

With a valid COE, yes.

Can you explain the COE?

COE = Certificate of Eligibility It's like a semi-permanent Background Check issued by the State of California. You renew it yearly.

IOTW: 03FFL in California is good for only three things...
Discounts.
Direct shipment of long rifles from out of state.
Free to import out of state C&R purchases.

Add the COE and you are exempted from the 1-in-30 handgun rule, and next Feb, will still be able to buy ammo online.

Sadly... in-state handguns still need to go through an FFL.
