I prefer to hunt with a rifle but use archery, black powder, and shotgun to extend my hunting season. My rifle calibers include .17HM2, 223, 243, 270, 30-06 and 45-70. All of my ammunition is handloaded.
I use a Cabelas fanny pack for most of my hunting, it contains nylon webbing, fire starter, first aid kit, GPS, rubber gloves, knife sharpener, water bottles, gloves, reversable cammo/orange fleece cap, camo face mask, gorillapod & digital camera.
Other items carried include;
Stoney Point shooting sticks
Leupold 10x 42 binoculars
Fixed blade buck knife with gut hook
Nikon 800 range finder
Ammo pouch with 5 extra rounds

Not a fan of hunting with it. I just proved a point to other hunters that it could be used. I use Browning and Savages mostly I am not a fan of Remington's.

Get a set of shooting sticks. They are on sale at bass pro right now for $20 for the 38" Bushnells.

day hunts- I use a crappy cammo backpack with hydration bladder
longer trips-badlands 2800, but looking to go to a 4500, maybe a Mystery Ranch or Eberlestock
staples for both packs-
tags & license
water
camera
headlamp
marking ribbon
black tape
couple large trash bags
couple pillow cases
50ft paracord
guthook knife/saw kit
snacks
compass
small 1st aid kit
couple diaphram coyote calls
buckstopper

longer trips, of course this list gets MUCH longer

binos and rangefinder on the binosystem, shooting sticks on my belt

usually Rem700 in 7mm or Bowtech Allegiance, but depending on the situation, might be carrying a Savage .223 - Weatherby .300winmag... and a few in between.

and my hunting rig--a beat up old pair of Rocky hunting boots.

Rifle set up for So Cal deer hunting. Works great when you get to the locked gates.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc257/emailbishop/frontier.jpg?t=1294265532

Ruger M-77 Frontier .308, with 16.5" barrel, Burris 3-9x32 Ballistic-Plex scope.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc257/emailbishop/bikehunting.jpg?t=1294265846

Giant Rincon 21 speed bike, Redhead Stalker internal frame pack with hydration bladder, Garmin Etrex GPS, Nikon Monarch 10x42 binocs, Gerber Gator gut hook knife, Snake Guards.

Handgun setup would substitute Thompson Contender in 6.8mm S.P.C. with Bushnell Trophy 2-6X32 scope for the rifle.

Nice rifle, but I don't think it's easy for you to haul a deer with your bike is it?:D

Bone it out, and it goes in the backpack. No need to haul out bones, guts, and hide.

I love that bike setup 5shot but I would be afraid of dumping it. I'm accident prone where bicycles are concerned.

Typical loadout...probably forgetting some things,
'84 K20 burb 6.2 or my dad's 98 F250
Savage 116FSS Weather Warrior 30-'06, Nikon 4-9x40, 165 gr. Grand-Slam handloads.
Ruger KGP-101 w/ 158 gr softpoints or Browning Buckmark.
Mossy 500 for birds, Norinco JW-15 or 10/22 for small game.
Work clothes with at least one bright article of clothing.
Wisconsin skinner (best invention ever) and a puukko knife...various small knives, small saw.
Chainsaw, pick, rope and shovel in the truck.
Beer.
Water.
Snacks.
rubber gloves
Complete change of clothes and several layers to add on.

As you can see I'm low-tech. I wear camo for duck/goose but basically it's carharts and a t-shirt, work boots, hooded sweatshirts and a coat. Bear season you might find me in snow shoes.
