Looks like Browning is coming out with a scaled down 1911 .22

Nice. Kinda pricey for a .22 though, same price as the Remington 1911 .45 acp.

It will most likely have a street price of $400 ish.. and I wonder who makes it?

Well it says the slide is machined aluminum and the frame is alloy. Does that mean pot metal, excuse me alloy?

Browning products are usually made in the USA or Belgium or in Japan---you get to pay more, but usually get a superior product. "Alloy" can just mean aluminum---not a bad choice for a .22lr. I wish the pistol came with better sights then the ones pictured---maybe later. Armscorp products, in my mind, are generally crap.

"Scaled down"? It's not full-sized?

I'd rather have one of these for half the price, however not on the roster.

"Scaled down"? It's not full-sized?

The specs say barrel length of 4 1/4, Commander length. 10 round magazine, so full size grip frame?

Gotta see one to tell for sure.

browning is very pricey anyways.....that is a nice looking pistol, but not sure if its worth it for a .22

I hate that's not on the roster....I was going for one like this to shoot up all the hoarded ammo i have

ATI has the GSG 1911 in the testing lab right now. The lab would not
give them an estimate as to when "testing" would be complete. Could
be 6 months. Could be a year. When they are done testing it shouldn't
be that long before it is on the market here. The Browning looks like
a sweet little pistol. I haven't heard anything about them trying to get
in on the DOJ list here though. Like others have said, it's priced pretty
high.

They have had a few catastrophic failures in the slides of the GSG 1911 due to the metal shattering. Hopefully, GSG is addressing the issue.
