You will find few Nichols articles that aren't optimistic about open carry.

San Diego District Attorney is Bonnie Dumanis. Robert Phillips is a retired Deputy DA.

The same idiot who wrote a "journalistic" piece which proclaimed "open carry" legal post-Peruta. You can pretty safely dismiss 99% of his drivel, here and elsewhere, as ignorant, angry BS.

It is good to see some positive PR for our civil rights.

I've skimmed that article twice and I still don't know what the heck he's talking about. Who writes like this?

From Charles Nichols:

The NRA has gone so far as to endorse John McCain's bill which would ban both open and concealed carry in Washington D.C., The bill would also give landlords, and arguably mortgage holders, the power to decide who can keep a firearm in a residence. In short, it would reverse the United States Supreme Court Heller decision.

As unhappy as I am with the NRA, this simply astounds me! What could he be basing this claim on?
