From her own statements, she sees the need for criminal prosecutors to use their positions to "fight" for the great cause of "justice" for minorities, immigrants and the poor.
In the runup to November's elections where Harris won the slimmest victory in the Democratic statewide sweep the news media released a flood of glowing profiles of the aspiring politician, casting her as a rising national star, comparing her to Barack Obama, and even labeling her as the "anti-Palin," as one Politico article put it.

People will say or do - including release to "news media" - anything to get their preferred candidate elected

Fairly conservative here & I generally treat WND much like a right-wing National Enquirer... even if they're correct you never want them to be your primary source of information.

I agree with both of you but in light of that, refute the facts stated, not the source. I find nothing wrong with what they list on that site. - cheers

I still think she's hot, and I'm not too worried because she still has to answer to a Governor who can put his money where his mouth is (http://www.chicagoguncase.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/california_cert_stage.pdf). :D

Not quite. Since the CA AG is an elected office, not an appointee of the governor, the AG is not under the governor's thumb.

This scenario played out in IL recently when the independently-elected AG acted contrary the the IL governor in filing a lawsuit challenging Obamacare (I think.)

Unfortunately, the minorities, immigrants and the poor are determining elections in this state. In particular, immigrants and you wonder why America is not America anymore? They could care less about the Constitution and the second ammendment. It`s all about where is my handout and I want your job. Their mentality is this; by voting the democratic ticket they are voting for democracy, which they interpret as freedom. The reality is voting democratic is voting for socialism, straight up. The naive and uneducated are determining alot of political outcomes in this country and it scares me.

Her efforts in San Francisco have proven successful, as she:
Took more gun cases to trial and doubled the conviction rate in felony gun trials, from 43% in 2003 to 90% in 2006.
Established a specialized unit to handle the prosecution of juvenile gun crimes and prosecute adults who furnish guns to minors.
Prosecuted over 40% more juvenile gun cases in 2005.

I'm not that skeptical of WND but here is something we need to keep in mind from her campaign website. I also found it interesting that you need to sign up to gain acces to her "Smart on Crime" plan is...

For many of them, the definition of "freedom" means free from responsibility. The "naive and uneducated" means the ignorant and irresponsible. The predictable result of many years of social experimenting wherein those very people were paid to lay around and breed like mice.
Had this discussion with a guy once, and I pointed out that a stupid, dirty pidgeon builds a nest FIRST. His response was "we are talking about human beings, not birds" - - making him dumber than a bird. CA has plenty of wannabe politicos willing to pander to the lower denominator, the lesser choice. If not Harris, then others would step in.

Don't worry Kam Harris will turn CA into South Africa where Police are more like social workers and if your white you'll be the target of increased hatred and harassment.

In her speech, Harris implied the role of a criminal prosecutor should be to fight for the cause of "justice" for the "poor, the disenfranchised, the people of color, immigrants, children, seniors."

interesting....i thought justice was supposed to be color blind? so she's openly admitting that she's racist and will fight harder for people if they aren't white? awesome.....

She argued for the need to create a campaign around reducing "not the crime but the fear of crime."

simple....give out guns!! and i'm glad to see she just wants us to not be afraid of crime. She's cool with it happening, but she doesn't want us to be afraid when we are violently attacked. Because if we are scared, then the terrorists win.......

Agreed; the established in this country are being undermined by the vermin.

I see her as "Jerry`s puppet." Brown will be governor & atty. general. He is also a liberal and connected to the brotherhood. The agenda is about protecting, promoting and uplifting those of 3rd. world status, which means whites will be taking a back seat if nothing is done about it.

Kamala Harris was in my class ('89) at Hastings yet for some reason was not admitted to the Bar until June 1990.

If Harris is seen as an "Anti-Palin" then maybe she's not all bad, after all.

At the 2004 Berkeley speech, Harris stated, "Law enforcement has not, at least always been, in the history of our communities, our friends. It is important for those of us who have a level of sensitivity to the poor, the disenfranchised, the people of color, immigrants, children, seniors, people who have been victimized it is important for us to also be at the table when decisions are being made affecting those populations instead of just on the outside of the door."

- The poor
- The disenfranchised
- People of Color
- Immigrants
- Children
- Seniors
- Victims
Can you say pandering to special interest groups?
I knew you could. :p

The role of the prosecutor is to prosecute criminal offenders by reviewing criminal complaints and investigations supporting the complaint. The prosecutor should advocate punishment based on the severity of the crime and its impact on the victims or society, not based on some kind of census demographic.

So prosecutors are supposed to plea bargain cases to the benefit of the accused just like defense attorneys????

I wonder if that applies to people who are NOT in her protected class of poor and immigrant etc.
