Here is something you dont see every day.

Found this item when crusing for FN FAL Paratrooper guns on guns america.

http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976755734.htm

According to the BATF list at the link below this rifle is one of 21 that was legally imported back in 1963.

This has to be one of the most beautiful rifles I have ever seen.

It is beautiful, but so is the price tag:eek: ; not to mention that FN FAL is listed.

I would be a little wary... The guy is listed from alaska but then again.... alaska has like no anti-gun laws.

Thats cool, hard to see the mag release/pivot area, but it looks sear-cut.

Nice rifle, not so nice price hahaha.

???????? Why is AK any different than NV, AZ, ID, ect...??

Great Northern Guns is exactly what they say, a very repected gun shop that has been in business for almost 40 years. Great place to go if you ever get a chance.

Yes it is sear cut. Basically a full auto without the sear, so only SA. That is why it is on the ATF amnesty list and not listed as a NFA weapon. They were imported by Browning I believe.

Yes that is true in fact the link to the BATF amnesty list is the 2nd link from the top of my first post.

This rifle isnt anywhere near as rare as the 5 listed in (C) thats the one I really want. .....

SAS:
I'm with you on the Browning Paras. A friend in AZ had actually went as far to have purchased one of those 5 rifles in 2000 but when he got it in his hands, it turned out that someone had taken the lightweight lower off and replaced it with a standard! Besides the weight, there is a tel-tale "**" maked on the lower edge of the receiver showing it is made of hiduminium. Anyway he inquired to the seller about this switch and it turns out the seller was the second owner but knew the person who originally bought the rifle. So he asked and the reply was they he wanted it for his run of the mill HB FAL! Seems the gun was too heavy for him and so he swapped out the lowers. Well , needless to say that gun was returned to the seller. Later I saw it posted on an site for $800 less than what he originally wanted for the gun. Then it was selling for $3800.

I was at the "BIG RENO SHOW" in about summer 98 in the small room at my table and another SOT down the isle had one of these 5 (889805) and I came really close to purchasing it the only reason I didn't was I already owned 5 FN FAL paras at the time and 1 there was no room in my safe 2 I didnt have 6500 cash on me at the time and there was no way to get it before another buyer came and stole (bought) the rifle 3 I had just dumped about 15K into a boat (1973 sanger) 4 current wife did not want me to buy any more guns NOW EX WIFE.

Just proves the ole saying that too many toys can be a burden, especially the 2 legged ones!

From May 1961.
Just to make you weep a little.....I lightweight one went for $180

I also saw an old ad where DSA sold a GL for $8500 in 2002. Prices sure have gone thru the roof.

Notice the last paragraph in the article on uses for this rifle.

Cruel and unsual punishment.

outlawed by the geneva convention.

I know, but I had to spread the misery around!

Also did anyone notice in the description that the "integral flash hider ... also reduces recoil" So I guess we could call them the original muzzle break. Too bad our politicians only saw the "flash hider" portion of that definition.

Nice FAL. The T-48/Belgium handguards are above $200 if you could find one.
