Check out this thread (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=77824).

That thread has some inaccurate info in it plus the main store mentioned there is over crowded and not very customer friendly.

Discount Firearms is right off the strip and new owner took over about 3 months ago. They stock between 750k - 1 million rounds and their prices seem fair. They also offer one of the nicer indoor ranges in town and have a variety of class 3 guns available for rental....Without having to wait in line or deal with some of the known issues the other mentioned store has.

Their website is a bit out of date. The new owners have been focusing on updating inventory and bringing the store a nicer appeal so the website has not been top priority. However, you can at least get the location info from there.

http://discountfirearmsinc.com/Location.htm

This is the closest gun range to the main strip.

American Shooters is the second closest and their range is the most up to date in the Vegas area.

http://www.americanshooters.com/

There are a number of other ranges around town that will suit your needs but these two are the closest and 2 of the best in the city.

The shops with "cheaper" ammo and accessories are located WAY off the strip and would require a taxi or rental car to get there.

Hope this helps. Happy shooting.

The last time in Vegas, I went to Discount Firearms (on Highland, just off the Strip) for a few things (Mags, Ammo, etc.), the prices were good and the service was friendly and efficient. Lots of ammo by the case sitting on the floor.

Discount Firearms is where I do most of my shindiggery. That's what I use for those "special" purchases while using my Vegas addy.

I'm actually not staying anywhere close to the strip, even tho I'm probably spending most of my nights there

702shooter, where would you recommend I go for the best price on handgun ammo, 10mm, .45 acp, .380 acp etc and accessories?

Thx in Advanced! :D

I lived in Vegas for about 5 years before recently moving back. I rated the stores for customer friendliness and merchandise selection - the two I frequented are Bargain Pawn and Citadel. Bargain Pawn is great on C&R, but they move off the shelf quick, I tried to visit about 3 times a week.
Citadel is very friendly and they have a great selection guns and accessories.

New Frontier Armory - (Ask for Guido and tell him you're a CGN member or NiteQwill said hello ;) )

AND

Lock N' Load (Henderson Defense)

Both are contributors on this site and VERY, VERY California friendly, support them before giving your money to "tourist traps."

Citadel Gun and Safe has not sold guns for awhile now (no FFL) so as you can imagine, their gun selection isn't so great these days. ;) As for ammo, they have one of the best selections in town but I bought a box of .40 and later found the same box for almost $20.00 cheaper at NFA.

I have affiliations with a number of shops here in town which is why I have not publicly posted an answer to Agent Tiki. That being said, here is some additional info on each of the two stores NiteQwill mentioned.

Also, depending on when Agent Tiki is in town, Lock N Load is giving away a free AK-47 on New Years Eve. All you have to do to enter their drawing is drop by their store and fill out a free raffle ticket. Of course, make sure the prize is legal for whatever state you live in.

Wow! when did Citadel lose their FFL??? that's surprising, I just left in March of this year!

I live in Vegas and I would recommend Discount Firearms on highland drive (next door to all the strip clubs coincidentally) now that they are under new ownership. I didnt like the lady that owned it before. She had a serious attitude 90% of the time I bought guns from her. The new owners seem cool.

New Frontier Armory out in the North on Centenial drive is really cool. I bought my Stag Arms model 8 from them and would go back to then in a heart beat. Super nice folks with alot of cool products packed into a small store. You can get pretty much any Magpul product right off the shelf there. Lots of bulk ammo in the middle of the store too.

For used and all around crazy selection of who knows what? Check out Bargain Pawn on LV Blvd. in North LV. It has a big red armored car out front. They became a full scale gun store with all kinds of trade in craziness. You never know what rolls in there. Kinda like the Pawn Stars of gun sin my opinion. The big bald bearded guy w/ the lock & cocked 1911 on his hip (Glen) is a little rough and short fused but overall he is a nice guy. I guess alot of ghetto types stroll in there asking about Fo-Tay's and 9milies and what not? So I dont blame him. Its in a rough side of town. I bought a few handguns and an AK from them. They seriously have a mountain of used guns in there along with a few new ones too. Oh yeah and used gear too.

The Gun Store on Tropicana is a tourist trap but still fun to look around and pop off a few rounds on full auto. I bought a few shotguns from them too when I first moved here.

Lock & Load is new down in Henderson not too far from the strip off of S. Eastern right off the 215 near the airport. They have alot of cool supplies. I bought Magpul stuff from them.

Henderson Defense in Henderson? I havent been there yet. I need to check them out tomorrow. I heard they have killer deals on $400 WASR 10's with a bunch of accessories right now.

Citadel Gun & Safe off of Dean Martin dr. still has a butt load of gun stuff even though they cant sell actual firearms anymore. They have tons of uppers and a million gun parts and accessories in stock. No shooting range but lots of gun related products.

Good luck. Have fun.

You may want to give HDI a call before stopping by. The HDI location isn't much of a retail location these days, if at all. HDI and Lock N Load Tactical share the same owner. Lock N Load is the new brick and mortar retail side of the business.

If you want to buy from HDI, check their website. http://www.hendersondefense.com

I'm pretty sure they stopped selling guns before March but don't know for certain.

Most airlines will allow you to bring up to 11 pounds of ammo in your checked baggage. If you want to save big money you need to buy ammo online and have it shipped to your house via UPS or FedEx Ground.

Around spring time, this year.
They lost their license due to selling firearms (cash & carry) to non-residents of NV.
Most notably to some CA residents, who were felons, with NV seasonal resident ID cards. That was one of the reasons why the NV seasonal resident ID card is no longer considered a valid form of identification for establishing residency in NV for firearm transactions.
