Who's up for a Mosin group buy...?

Looks like about $40 each + 1/20th of shipping per each rifle.

Dibs on the '26 and '29 Tulas....

Nice if they can be had $500. That is the opening bid and the seller has a reserve price; which I bet isn't $500. I would bet the reserve is closer to $1300.

I sent an email asking for reserve amount and shipping costs to SoCal.

Maybe they tell us - Maybe not...

How are you guys arriving at the $40 price? Are you dividing $500 by 20 rifles?

IF the description is correct and these are Russian armory rebuilt Mosins, I would think any one of them would be a good pick. Just based on the pics, they all seem to be in very good condition.

If the price stays @ or under $75 shipped (considering $500/20 = $25 plus shipping) and these are cash & carry, I'm in for one.

The problem that I see is if the seller is not willing to ship to multiple parties, then we have a problem with the organizer of the GB acting as an unlicensed dealer. With an 03, he can import them to California, but he can't turn around and immediately resell them without an 01.
At that point, we would have to add DROS to the total, plus a 10 day wait for anyone without an 03 and COE.

At $75 per out the door, I'd be in for two if we can work out the logistics of the transfers without violating the law.

The dealer with that auction most likely bought the crate of 20 rifles when one of the distributors like Centerfire Systems was selling them for $1200 to $1400 plus shipping. Don't expect the reserve to be lower than the original Centerfire Systems price plus shipping to the dealer in Florida plus the dealer's mark up.

True. And, considering that J&G has the hex models for $90 and we might be able to get them for $80 in a group buy = $1600. Not sure it is even worth trying to do something with that guy on GB

I am wondering how much it would cost to ship. $200, $300? I think to send my rifle to Oregon it was about $10 or $15 but I added insurance so that was a couple of more bucks. I think this is getting shipped cross country too so that would be pricey.

I'll bet the reserve is $2,000.

I wonder what 01 dealers get mosins for (like AIM, JG, etc).

I know it is probably only due to the quantity they buy.
But say we hit up Century and offer to buy 40 rifles.
Think they'll let them go for $60 each?

I would think we would have to lottery who gets what though just to be fair (or pick in order of sign up to the group buy).
That way no one can argue about it.
I would be very down for this. I wish I could import my own firearms. Then I would buy them for whatever Century pays (probably like $20).

Late last year/early this year I bought a couple of crates of 91/30's from I/O and had they were delivered via Estes truck lines (it saved them a few bucks and that was okay by me). I don't remember what the bill was but it was under $70 shipped to my door (I bought 2 crates of 20 each).

I bought 100 mn91/30's from another vendor early last summer and my price was under $53 each delivered. There is another source that I can get them for $49 delivered, but I have to buy in greater quantities.

Most of the 91/30's I buy come from SOG or J&G (both great vendors). When I/O has them in stock I buy from them because their price is usually slightly less but the freight is less because they are only 90 miles from me.

I would offer to group buy them for you but I'm not a Gunbroker fan and you guys live in the PRK so the logistics of the group buy would be a nightmare for me. Add shipping, FFL fees (if any), and then deciding who gets what? Best of luck guys & keep us posted what the final winning bid was/is.

Maybe next time I do a BULK buy I should let you know?

Who is I/O? Also let us know if you find places selling crates! :D

I/O = InterOrdnance = Royal Tiger Imports, one & the same!

http://www.royaltigerimports.com/

Very good people (back in the day they were the bomb)! Right now if you need some cheap 7.62x54R I very strongly recommend them. They are out of 91/30's right now but they are expecting some more....soon? Tell them SCGUNCO sent you!

Crates? I've got a couple but I think shipping would really, really, just kill you!

12-27-2010, 4:22 PM
Where do they buy there crates from? How do we find those suppliers? Even if we did a group buy on 10 crates it wouldn't take much to get rid of them at 40-60$ a rifle. :D

Easy fix (even though it sucks for some) make the group buy open to C&R holders only. Then you can ship straight to their front door.
Take inventory of year/arsenal only and anything that stands out (brass ex-sniper, ex-dragoon, metal sling slots, etc).
A very basic rundown.
Then draw the order randomly out of hat.
I wouldn't even be mad if I got drawn last pick for that price.

Ya.... they're in nice condition, but not THAT nice.

For that price, they'd better de-cosmo and zero themselves!

They better have Stalin's autograph for that price. lol.
(We laugh now, but in two years when 91/30's are $150 we will all be crying.)

Hahahahaha, That is pretty funny.
I just hope that there will still be a $100 war surplus rifle in a decent caliber around in 10 years.
Maybe importing from China will lighten up someday and we will have a plethora of SKS and the cost will go back down to like $200. That would be a great thing.

Even J&G Sales would be better off. :o

I think I'm just going to start buying mosins online whenever I have $100 to spare. Just so every two months or so I have a new surprise waiting at the front door haha.
