An FFL not too far from me went down last week. Its hard to say what happened without the inside track but I thought I would pass this on.

They need to follow the rules. Otherwise it gives the anti's ammo against us. I'm glad they took him down if he is in fact guilty of the charges.

That may be the case but we are only getting one side of the story, ATFs. So I for one will reserve judgement until all facts are present or I at least hear the other side.

I read the link to gunguys - that is definetly an anti-gun site

I wouldn't believe anything these report.

I went through way too much paperwork to be a FFL to just turn around and sell guns illegally. If I wanted to sell guns illegally, I wouldn't have bothered to get the proper licenses.

Here's a classic from the story at Gun Guys:

"Because of the NRA, our countryís gun laws are far from restrictive. Dodge City couldnít follow even laws we currently have on the books, and so itís a no brainer for the ATF to revoke their license."

A statement so far from where it should be, that I think I'll leave it to ripen.

I have been a customer of Rick's for around 15 years. In all that time, he has always impresed me as a man of impecable character. I have a hard time beliving that he willfully did something wrong.

That said, the store is VERY busy; at times I have seen stuff piled all over the place. I would like to hear his side of the story.

"Selling since 1979"... I agree with tenpercent, this guy has way to much invested in his business for him to be intentionally selling illegal firearms.

It sounds like a bunch of crap to me. I know from experience that the books can be hard to keep up with when it's insanely busy. Thats to bad he gave them the ammo to try and shut him down :( I wish him well if he chooses to appeal.

ATF is on a nationwide crusade, with a trail of retail stores fallen. With the number of errors the ATF makes, and their newly implemented zero-tolerance stance... their agenda is very suspect.

This is from 2001 - why has ATF not shut down the FBI And INS (now DHS) since they have not been able to account for a large number of weapons.

Its a hell of a thing to demand that an FFL keep exacting records and be punished for sloppy record keeping (which they should be) but then turn a blind eye to government agencies when they are quite guilty of the same type of offense.

I would like to see the ATF get audited and see if they can account for all their purchased, issued, warehoused weapons along with any ones they are holding as evidence, confiscations or evaluations. I bet they would not pass a GAO type audit.

Hey lets get on a letter writing campaign to our senators and demand an audit.. HAHAHAHAHA

ATF is busting everyone's balls because theirs got busted. Basically if you bust everyone's balls that will redirect the attention elsewhere and not towards you. Remember that sting they did in Atlanta that got some heat from an oversite comittee.

Here's another way of looking at it:

Your told to get ready for inspection. You don't get ready but you blacken your boots right before. You could A:Stand next to the guy tha has his polished or B: Stand next to the guy that has his all scuffed up. Which one would you choose? B: ofcourse, its called redirecting all the hate and discontent. Because the other guys is worst than you they will take the bulk of the flak even though you yourself deserved just as much. This is all just hypothetical no blueshirts were hurt in the above example.

Why did you post that link?

In case you didn't know, gunguys.com is run by the brady bunch and/or similar rabidly anti-gun communist groups.

Please don't give them the web traffic.
