I just got a 54X39X27 1/2 Major Safe. Yes, it's OLD It's a F1-D rated safe and is concrette lined.

First question since it's not listed as a security safe should I WELD on any extra plate steel? Will it work since there's concrette behind it?

It's been drilled once. A BB has been placed in the hole and has been "JB welded" Any thing that I should do here?

There's zero fire seal other than the jig-saw of the doors. Is there anything that I can do here?

Lastly the interior is 48x33x20 Any of you have any really creattive storage tricks that you have done?

Thank you!

Sounds good for storing ammo in, but my firearmas and valubles would require a quality fire/burglary safe.

+1 I would want something a bit more secure.

OOOPS it's not a MAJOR but a MOSLER! and it's a t-20 so that means that it was made prior to 1963.

It's also showing a fire rating of "C"
