Hey Guys,

I have a DPMS 24" SS Bull upper, and I want to get a brake for it. I want to be able to get back on target faster after the shots.

Just wondering what would be the best route to go.

Mike

ditto, unless you think you might also need to stab someone, then go with the Shark Brake

BattleComp is the current Rave for your specific purpose, pricey though

I think I am gonna go with the JP Large Profile break for .925OD barrels.

Next question.

Do you know anyone in the SF Bay Area that can machine the barrel/thread the barrel and install the brake?

I was on the phone with JP this morning and I got a fedx confirmation a few hours later.. I should have my new brake on the 22nd..

I have a LAR 8 and got this one. http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPTRE-324S plenty in stock.. It’s $98 shipped.. It bolts right up. I simply unscrew the old bird cage and add the crush washer and tighten on the new one. No smith required..

Just a thought..

My barrel has no threads so Ill have to have it machined.

SJC Titan...one of the best brakes of all time.

Thank me later. (The people around you won't, but you will)

I am not sure if the bull profile will match the profile of the Titan though.

Search brianenos.com for more brake information (competition oriented, not tacticool, and getting back on target is a big deal).

This is what I ended up purchasing.

Its a large brake, http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPTRE-5.58S.925

I would have went with the other style they make, but the diamater is not large enough for my barrel OD. This brake is 1.2" x 3.5"

Nice… they say.. well the reports I’ve read online, reference that the one that you got is = to the JP recoil eliminator brake.. Please be sure to update the team.. I’ll be real curious to hear what your opinion is once you get it on and test it out..

I have a JP brake on mine, couldn't be happier with it. it makes my .308 AR have the kick of a 22lr with the lighter loads and with the 168gr+ it feels like a .223.

I ran one of those JP's on a Fulton .308 upper and I will say it did significantly reduce felt recoil. However, the side concusion was really awful and I probably wont be buying another.

Yeah that sux but thats how it does its job. You cant have one without the other. I guess you could settle for one that doesnt wor as well.

IDK.. I like having them, I’m pretty much assured that I’ll have the right and left side of me cleared after a few shoots from my dta.. Hahaaa. A good MB works on sooo many different levels. ;)
