Never seen that before. Slick little survival set up. I couldn't find info on the fishing rod. Is it standard or an option?

From the look of the pictures I've seen, I think its an option...

Its focused towards ultralight backpackers...so they worked the fishing capabilities in there to make it a Multi-Use piece of gear...

EDIT: I went to their "About Pack Rifle" section and it does not specify anything about the rod or real seat being standard...

Never heard of it, I wonder how they compare to something like the AR-7. I've always wanted one of those.

That is so frigging rad. The lighrlest barrel on a 10/22 weighs that much!

Pretty cool. I don't know if I believe they bagged the Cougar with this little thing though.

That is a bobcat, not a cougar.

Yeah thanks - I just knew somebody was going to say that. ;) The bobcat/lynx I believe.
There are more pictures on the sight though. Looks like they've got about 150lb cougar (mountain lion/puma) too.

wow thats really cool, wish it wasnt single shot though, maybe they can make a double barreled one with 2 triggers?

It looks like a tube feed. They don't really specify though.

Its been hard to find reviews. This is a niche item made for ultralight backpacking enthusiasts...so I'm limited to what I can find on those forums regarding this rifle.

I found out about it through backpackinglight.com forums...a few minutes spent in there and you realize how hardcore these guys are about shaving off an ouce on ALL their gear...down to using no toilet paper on their hiking trips.

Bet we'll see it in a movie soon...

It's starting to look like a very expensive Zip Gun (by appearance but not by definition).

No trigger guard. The only thing about it I don't like.

I want one. I have a penchant for unusual/odd guns. I see it being a good hiking gun, while my Henry AR-7 stays in the BOB.

I just got off the phone with Pack Rifle. What a delightful conversation I had with Jason's daughter (Jason is the owner). Family machine shop business that is venturing off into gun production. It is a single shot 16" barrel rifle. Jason will answer any questions you may have. This is my next rifle purchase! Was going to get an AR7 but will get this instead.
They also have a facebook page. Check em out. You can buy directly from Pack Rifle.

If you look on the website it says $425

Here's a video someone made of it.

MSRP $425.00

Being a small business owner myself, I'm going to do everything I can to help people like this. Made in USA, small business, family owned and operated = buy, buy, buy.
Once I have my taxes done I'll know more about my budget. Must wait a little.

I agree! Just wish it was a mag fed system.

If I was a backpacker this would be great. Really cuts down on weight and still gets the job done.

That's pretty sweet.
I looked and didn't see....what 22 can it shoot? LR? Mag?

CmpsdNoMore

Ya....after reading some reviews looks like it. Single shot too.:(
If it was tube fed and able to eat magnums I'd be all over it. Maybe the 2nd gen??:cool2: Would not need to be semi auto....pump would be cool.

Thinking along the lines of a Winchester 1890, but with modern materials/design
I have one built pre 1899 and it is a BLAST to shoot. The thing is tiny.

10/22 can be modded into survival rifle along pack-rifle lines, but it will wight more.

Get an AR-7

But it weighs two and a half times as much.

This is a niche product. No use for most of us. But if I were ultralight backpacking, I might look into it.

MyOdessa

Like this: 16" barrel, 26+" overall.

Close, but I was thinking using lightweight carbon/steel liner detachable barrel, "wire" foldable stock, ghost ring and QD scope. Next time I'll see beat up 10/22 I'll pick it up and mod it. Should be fun. :)

KandyRedCoi

blah, single shot...totally niche

G-forceJunkie

10/22, Tac Sol barrel and a buttler creek wire folding stock would be my choice. Not ultralight but small and handy enough.
