I've gone through AIM and J&G, both places sent me good 91/30s.

there is a place in Indiana that sold M44s for $79 a piece in september-haven't been there for a while.

I have had good luck with gunbroker too

aimsurplus in Ohio is worth a try

Big 5. Some of their Mosin's are better than others. So take your time, and pick through.

What was that place that had them for like $69...?

"Tiger Imports" or something? (I forget)

Also, Buds Gun Shop online has them for $92 shipped. That's a really good price...

One of the great things about a C&R license is that now you can buy from anywhere in the country. In addition to the online dealers, you can also search gunbroker or the for sale section on gunboards. Many doors are now open to you so take advantage of that to find exactly what you are looking for.

Yep. Take your time and tailor your search to what you want, not what is available.

The thing I like about buying locally at my big 5 is that they are nice enough to bring out all the boxes and rip them open and let me check to see if there's some special prize inside one. I can check what I'm buying out thoroughly. I know 80% are rough and not anywhere special but then there is the other 20% and I have found just what I wanted there a few times:D which I couldn't do ordering online.

I bought my K1911 from them. I would use them again but make sure they use a cheap plastic hardcase. The only issues I've had were from UPS gorillas....

I bought my M44 and M39 here on the calguns marketplace.

Dont pay more than $100-$110 for a M91/30, $140-$150 for a M44 or M59, and $125 for a old M91 before 1930. Finns are hard to price, they usually start around $250 and can go up to $550. I see alot of mosins on the marketplace that are having trouble selling because their prices way tooooo high.

I always buy mine from CalGunners. They usually know what they're worth so I get a fair price, and they always can tell me what I want to know about the gun.

Classic arms is out of stock and not preparing to restock many of the m/nagant items found on their C and R page. Found that out when I called with an intent to order. Too bad, they had some nice deals.

I'll pay $125 cash to anyone who has one of those crummy old M91s from before 1930 that they want to get rid of...

Gun shows are good. This way you can actually look at the rifle, shine a bright flashlight down the bore, do the ".308" bullet test, etc.

Online, no thanks. For old milsurp guns like that, I want to see it first. And Gunbroker.com prices are up in the stratosphere. I don't know what those sellers are smokin', but whatever it is, they've gotta be higher than Tommy Chong.

I bought a 1943 Finn m91, Tikka barrel, in mint condition from a vendor at a gun show in Columbia SC Saturday morning. My price = $100 (he had no clue what is was). You can find good deals at most gun shows if you look around and ask questions.

I buy from AIM, CAI, CLASSIC ARMS, J&G, SOG, I/O (Royal Tiger) and everybody else. I have a FFL and have a great relationship with most of these guys. I never order less than 20 milsurps at a time and sometimes order up to 100 at a time. Most of the time whoever promises same day shipping with a definite (no BS) ETA gets my money.

I/O (Royal Tiger) and Classic are less than 100 miles from me so anything I order before 3pm goes on the truck that day and I get it UPS Zone 1 the next day. I've been doing LOTS of business with SOG lately - look at their flyer...$239 m39's...$84 Nagant revolvers...$159 cz82's....$139 pa63's. Seriously, you can't beat a $239 m39!

Keep an eye out on I/O - I hear from good sources that they are going to explode again with very low priced 91/30's. The last time they got some in I ordered 40 rifles that they shipped in original crates. I got them the next day. I would say that about half of the rifles were hex recievers (I think they were $69 each) and this was earlier this summer. Great prices. Fantastic service.

My girlfriend wants to get me a Christmas present.
We have like a $100 limit.
So I was thinking a new Mosin would be perfect.
I have a C&R and I'm torn between ordering from J&G and just looking around at Big 5's.

The nice thing about Big 5 is you can find some gems. Ive found Mo double dates, ex-dragoon eras, and a few ex-snipers.

Get yourself a copy of shotgun news. That's the c&r handbook.
