...are just numerous this year. I haven't seen coveys like this in Fresno/San Benito county in the last several years. I guess all the wet weather last year really helped, and this year seems to be (so far) playing out into another wet one. It almost makes up for going 0-for-3 on deer and 0-for-1 on bear this season.

On the downside, I'm burning as much 12 ga on quail as I would on dove. Wow! :43::43:

Yeah quails are abundant this year. My friend and I got 10 quails in about 1-1.5 hours. On the opener, it was amazing to see a quail standing on a tree branch 2 feet away from my friend and didnt get scared of us. Sadly, my friend missed. It was his first quail hunt. He bagged 4 and I bagged 6, and out of the two I bagged, it was one shot 2 birds!

Awesome! Doubles are amazingly fun. I actually got a triple yesterday (birds were holding really really close due to the rain). I'm still amazed at that one!

I have shot the most quail in my life this season, and I still see a bunch!

The quail hunting is amazing this year. More like a shooting fish in a barrel.

Valley is what I'm hunting. I think mountain closed over a month ago.

Take him go to the range and make him shoot 100 clays!

And you know, I just realized that I saw chukar for the first time (well, wild, unplanted chukar) not far from my quail hunting grounds.

They're bigger. That means more meat. It's not quite a turduken, but a chail (quail stuffed into a chukar) sounds mighty interesting!
