I'm thinking about buying one of those M1 Carbines from S.O.G but they are listing several manufacturers. Which manufacture would be the best to buy?

Quality Products
Saginaw
IBM
Inland
Standard
National Postal Meter
Underwood

These are all $695 and they also have a Winchester for $845.

Doesn't matter because you can't read the manufacturer name due to the rear sight. Post pictures when you get it.

Of those listed, current condition is more important than the manufacturer.

Agreed especially coming from SOG
I would pass $700.00 is to much for a Import marked carbine

Buy the 300 savage remington 722 in the for sale section and punch it out to 308 with a pull thru reamer, and never look back.

You will also have plenty of money left over for ammo or a better scope.

Or, you can buy three M1 carbines and weld them together for a first class anchor, there really not much use or accuracy to be had in one and they are only good for fondling while watching saving private Ryan.

You're correct. I have 2 C&R FFL's; one here in California and one in Nevada. That way I can buy things they list as C&R and "Not for Sale in California".

So you think I would be better off to wait and see if the CMP ever gets more in stock?

The CMP doesn't think they will ever get anymore except what is on there auction site, and the ones there and are really expensive, sometimes you can get a deal if your lucky.

Southern Ohio Guns www.southernohiogun.com

You need to have a 01 or 03 FFL to set up an account to see and buy guns from them.
