I don't know whether this has been covered elsewhere, but...what's a good in-vehicle setup for audio (and possibly video) recording in the event that you get stopped by a hostile and/or 2A-ignorant LEO? Anyone have any ideas?

Right now I just use a small Olympus audio recorder along with an audio recording app on my iPhone. I was looking into this before, and this looks like a real nice system:

Covert Rear View Mirror Cam with Recording (DVR) (http://www1.brickhousesecurity.com/car-surveillance.html)

A bit pricey, though.

What app do you use?

Yeah, that is nice, but it is expensive, and kind of elaborate. I could use my iPhone, I suppose, except that I usually forget to take it with me, and would prefer a device dedicated to the vehicle.

Just get your vehicle rigged up with front, side and rear dashcams and keep a wireless mic on your person (and a few on the outside of your vehicle). You could possibly set this up to upload the audio/video to a server (via wireless tethering with your phone) so that there is no chance of it mysteriously getting erased.

I got a Swann video pen from costco.com for $59.00

It's called the pen cam mini video camera & recorder it has a 2GB built in USB memory stick and can record up to 1 hr of video and audio...also has a still camera option.

the Freedom Cam designed for all the above http://freedomcam.net/car_blackbox_dashcam.html

another thing people are doing and is highly recommended, use your cell phone video streamed directly to the internet this way LE can not destroy any evidence.
