Hammerhead is your lowest cost way to build your featureless rifle. Drop 30 rounders with your finger, no fishing around for your "tool." Factory seconds are a good inexpensive way to get started on your featureless build.

Quantities are extremely limited so don't spend a lot of time thinking about it. The current crop of seconds look good but will require about 30 seconds of work with a drill if you're going to attach a stock to the grip. If you're not going to attach a stock, these can be used as-is.

We still have some factory seconds in stock... Been on the fence about going featureless? This is your lowest cost way in. Go with a Type III configuration, all you are out is the price of the Hammerhead and the cost of a bolt or rivet to pin your existing collapsible stock.

could you put one of these on a pistol build?

Sure, you could. But it won't give you any 'legal' advantage over a pistol grip.

wow this is getting peculiar now

i mean if the law were a robot and bound only by logiv you could argue that since it has been testified in court not to be a pistol grip

and say one were to attach this to the well

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ARR755-7.html

you could claim that was the "grip" and thusly the magazine would be inserted in the grip

and since it is in the back it would not be a forward hand grip

but this is stretching

I think this has been discussed on calguns before. I don't remember that it ended up the way you would like, unfortunately.

I was just wondering if it would be comfortable to shoot. I was just thinking of giving it a different look and feel. I will likely order one soon and find out for myself.
I will try it on one of my featureless rifles.

Found that thread (http://230grain.com/showthread.php?69087-Project-idea-would-enjoy-input) where this was discussed. The OP was trying to put together an AOW using the Hammerhead to keep the height of the gun down for some reason:

On the off chance my fellow Calgunners haven't had a chance to try an Exile Hammerhead, I give it a big +1! I cut one of these down to the "bobbed" configuration and put it on a lightweight featureless and it feels great. It makes a whole lot of sense If you are an "old guy" like me with a bunch of legacy pre-ban mags lying around.

Oh, in case you are concerned... the stock is pinned and the muzzle device is at PWS FSC556; classified as a non-flash suppressing device by the BATFE.
