I have the Howard Leighton Sport (model R-01526) and I love them. They are compact (big plus) and come in a nice OD green. I recently took a range class and wore them for about 3 hours. They are comfortable.

They are $46.77 with FREE shipping on amazon right now. Spend the 20+ in change on ammo!

they are 22db rated which for me isnt acceptable. But for a good pair of high rated electronic muffs it will be over $100 dollars. Look at the pro hunters by pro ears in cabellas i hear good things and they have 28db rating and also increase hearing for hunting.

I was concerned about the Db rating as well. So far they have been great. During the class I took, I had shooters to the left and right of me, within 3 feet and it was not an issue. I also noticed that at least 2 of the range instructors had the same one's.

Been using the Leightning L3 (passive) and love them, but they are a bit bulky. I just picked up the electric ones on Amazon along with two more L3s (for family that shoots less often). $93 for all three to my door.

If the lower dB rating is an issue, I'll revert to the L3s or consider a more expensive pair.
