There is a vendor that sells them at the Cow Palace gun shows. There is a show coming up this weekend on Nov 13 and 14. The last I heard is that they will not be allowed to be sold in Californa soon that is if they havent already been banned for sale already...

The vendors have been saying that for years and years. Every gun show the ban is just around the corner.

Buy from the internet and have it shipped to your door. That's how I do it. Gunbroker is a nice auction site, but there are several retailers that sell armor as well.
Bulletproofme.com has a lot of stuff, but IMO there are better prices elsewhere for a lot of the items they sell.

I heard Galls doesn't like to sell to civilians in at their retail location....but have no problem selling them online. Nonetheless, I'd like to be able to try it on at least, as different manufacturers have their own sizing system.

This one seems to be a good deal... http://www.bulletproofvestshop.com/products/Concealed-BulletProof-Vest-Personal-Body-Armor-V.I.P-Style-Level-3A-IIIA.html

went with the one from http://www.bulletproofvestshop.com/p...l-3A-IIIA.html ....this is why I didn't want to buy online! It is a good fit in the chest, but loose in the belly! And by no means to I have a large built chest and a six-pack! This is based on the website's recommendation! I would not consider this vest concealable, maybe my standards are too high.

I prefer the vests at Galls with the shirt tails over the bulletproofme/bulletproofvestshop one above, because you can tuck them in to help keep the vest in place. Are their IIIA vests like this one (http://www.galls.com/style.html?assort=general_catalog&cat=&style=BP449) actually concealable or are they still pretty obvious when worn? Are their more expensive vests like their GL series (http://www.galls.com/style.html?assort=general_catalog&cat=&style=BP452) any more concealable?

Here ya go
1740 Cesar Chavez # A, San Francisco, CA 94124-1134

If you don't have at lease a guard card they won't sell you one at the store but you could try them on and see how they fit you. Then you could buy online.
