Semi-auto Thompsons are not listed by name on the Roberti-Roos list and they are not AR or AK series weapons. So the term "off list" doesn't really apply to them. Thompsons are banned because they are a semi-auto, detachable magazine rifle with an "evil" feature, the pistol grip. So any semi-auto Thompson is legal to ship to California if you first remove the pistol grip (awkward to shoot) or permenantly attach a 10 or less round magazine (awkward to load).

Finding a California FFL Dealer to accept the transfer is the hardest part. Now that so many of them are hip to the OLL situation you might have better luck than I did five years ago.

The semi-auto version is the 1927, the M1 is full auto.;)

 But why?,the Semi is a different crappy closed bolt redesign, the Full auto parts kits cannot be converted to legal semi auto.....

Yah it can with enough mill work to split the bolt and re-engineer the FCG so F/A parts can't just drop in...

FYI, Open-bolt semis are treated like machine guns by the A.T.F.. You don't want a open-bolt semi modded from a closed bolt or not.
