Technically pink mosquito's are non-roster...I've heard of them being transferred within the state though.

Ask your local FFL

What you are missing is 12131.5(b). So yes if it differs only in the ways of (a), then the company can seek listing by going through (b). However, the gun still must be listed in order for an 01 FFL to DROS it to non-exempt people.

So if Sig wants to get the pink gun listed, they can, but it still must be listed. It does not allow me to DROS it still.

Now can I illegally DROS it and no one will probably notice? Probably, however I know better and I wouldn't be doing it.

This should be added to the FAQ. It seems like a common question, as well as missing the second part.

Done - see new link (http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/index.php/FAQ#Why_are_some_guns_on_the_Roster.2C_and_similar _guns_from_the_same_manufacturer_NOT_on_the_Roster .3F).

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks. Could also mention 12131.5 and that (b) is also required. In that case no additional firearms are required, but the manufacturer has to send a letter and I suspect pay.

Another FAQ is in regards to sales tax and the BOE requirement that the FFL collect the sales tax, which keeps coming up. See http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?p=5251157&postcount=5

That would be another nice one to be added.

Thanks!!

Eh? At the link ... Why are some guns on the Roster, and similar guns from the same manufacturer NOT on the Roster?

Manufacturer's choice - each gun model costs the manufacturer 3 copies of the gun, $200, and ammunition to complete the testing; then it costs $200 annually for each model listed.

What about the 'similar gun' law at PC 12131.5?

That allows the manufacturer to avoid TESTING a model to get it on the Roster - but it still must be ADDED to the Roster before it can be sold and the manufacturer must pay the $200 for the initial and renewal listings.

I am not sure of what you are saying. I referenced the CA BOE info in the matter of the sales tax and that FFLs has to collect it if it comes from a business.

Still writing/researching that one to get all the fiddly bits right.

No, I was referring to Thanks. Could also mention 12131.5 and that (b) is also required. In that case no additional firearms are required, but the manufacturer has to send a letter and I suspect pay.since the part I added DID include 12131.5.
