View Full Version : How do you load a "fixed mag" ak?

I'm thinking about picking up one of those WASRs from Turners for $400. Haven't gone into the store to check it out yet, but am curious does fixed mag mean it's welded in and must be top-loaded or through the receiver, or is it a bullet button kind of thing and the mag can be detached and then loaded? I looked all around and couldn't find a specific answer for this. Thanks

There's no PC that requires the magazine has to permanently attached/fixed to the gun, only "detachable"/"non-detachable". Detachable means it can be removed without the use of a tool. For non-detachable, you load it just like a normal magazine but need to use a tool when you remove it.

Take the mag out via the use of a tool and load the mag. Re insert, charge and bang.
