I managed to break the left "claw" that holds the sight on the rail. Anyone know if this is covered by warranty or will I be buying a new sight?

Give them a call and see what the say. Their CS is excellent. But comparing this to everyday items, that would be considered physical abuse and not a manufacturer defect.

FYI, I called them and explained what happened and they said that I had an older design that was prone to over tourqueing. Said to send it in and the would send me a new one! Awesome customer service.

Yep..... Kudos to Magpul for their CS. Had a problem with my rear sight a while back and they shipped me a replacement absolutely gratis.
