Looking good, is that in CA?

If so, that pistol grip need a solar tactical wrap or something. Looks like you already got it covered with the barrel extension.

Enjoy your new toy in 9 days and counting...

can you use ar-15 mags? or Pmags?

MissionMTMan
11-01-2010, 11:04 AM
Yep, some like pmags and they all like Emags. AR-15 aluminum mags will most always work.

Nice rifle btw. You're gonna love it. I know I love mine!

he dosent need to, aslong as it meets OAL being folded.

I'm so jealous. Congrats on the purchase. I'm still saving up for my SCAR. Can you believe I bought myself a gas blow back airsoft scar for the time being just to play with.

I am a design engineer with an almost insatiable desire to understand as much as I can about how things work. I got back into shooting recently after a very long hiatus, and built myself a couple of target AR style rifles (.223 and .308), and I am trying to do everything I can that will actually make a difference in how these rifle shoot (I am not very interested in cosmetic stuff). What do you mean when you suggest that the OP "pin stock"?

Also, though I am not very interested in flash hiders in general, since most would actually be detrimental to accuracy, why do you suggest he change the flash hider?

he was saying "pin stock" as in pin the stock so that it cannot fold, with the stock pinned he could remove the long flash hider he was using to be compliant with the Over All Length and replace it with a standard 2in birdcage

Definitely, the PWS that the scar comes standard with is actually quite nice. I pinned my stock with a block that I bought here from a fellow Calgunner. Was cheap and installed quite easily.

I think PWS is making one as well.

thanks for the comments guys!! I will definitely pin the stock to get rid of that lengthy flash hider installed. In fact, I already ordered the block pin and a new flash hider from riflegear. I was really debating if I'll just have the folding stock option, but eventually I just can't stand that lengthy flash hider>

You're right it does. Probably some custom work on that one.

Found this over on the FN Forum. The Branham rail extension on a SBR scar with magpul rail covers... DROOL.

BB would be on the other side. Since the ambidextrous mag release is disabled I would assume that there is one installed.

you are absolutely correct!!!I'll be picking up this rifle today at 1530. I bought new emags, rail xtm panels, troy sling, a new YHM flash hider, Eotech 512 with gg&g flip covers. It's been a hard and long process of acquiring funds for this and hoping it's worth the money.

congrats.. it's worth the money but i still prefer the AR system.

helixultra

can you still fold the stock when you change the flash hider? I think it's still long enough to cover the minimum 16 barrel length and 30OAL?

I'm heavily debating a SCAR 17S. My biggest concern is future factory and aftermarket support for these rifles.

Nothing to worry about. The far less popular FS2000 has enjoyed full support from FN for years already. You can buy parts easily, and FN's repair dept. is great.

And due to the many lucrative military contracts FN has had in the past and present, it's not likely the company is going to fold any time soon.

It sucks coz they offered 10 percent off today but they said that for those who had layaways before the said promo, they will be offering 60 days 10 percent discount rainchecks.

emags works perfectly on SCARS.. pmags black/fde is tight.

It might be because it's blocked to 10 rds and I really need to put extra ooomph for the rifle to hold the emag. I tried putting 9 rds on it and it does work perfectly.

Cool, Iv'e been meaning to try some out with the thordsen customs tool attached, but not sure if the tool is long enough. I'm not sure what type of bullet button you have on yours but mine (assault planet) is quite recessed. Considering picking up the raddlock version for the SCAR. Seems like a much better option tbh.
