I haven't purchased my rem 700 yet, waiting to see if I can get a deal at a gunshow coming up.

But I did trade for a Choate varmint stock from a calguner that came with a detachable magazine. I found out he had a short action .308, which is what I've been planning on getting.

But what if I want more mags for it? Could I use any mags out there? The Aics mag, could this be used? I do have plans on getting an Aics stock down the line, so this couldn't hurt.

I've searched google but couldn't find what type of mag the Choate stock uses, anybody have a clue what it is?

Choate does not make their own as far as I can recall so you'll need to find out what kind of detachable mag system he installed.

I've asked him, but it seems this is the DM that comes with the stock. All my searches have yielded nothing more then the stocks themselves. I'll post pictures the second I get home from work.

I just noticed my title, heh opps. I should of proofread lol

Is this the stock you have?

Sorry for the late response, router problems.

Anywho, Stockon, no I have a different stock. If I'm not mistaken, I want to say that is the tactical Choate stock. I have the Varmint.

I've taken some pictures of the mag, hopefully somebody can identify it?

No markings on the mag. Only thing I can see is on the side, it states " Short Action Non Magnum. "

This is standard 700 DM model's magazine. No you can't use AICS with your stock.

Thanks! Funny how things won't show up until you type in the exact name.
