A friend of mine is looking for a quality AK pattern rifle. I know nothing af AKs so what are the high end models, where can they be purchased, what should the price range be?

Also what's the better ammunition to buy and what ammo to stay away from?

I refuse to support Arsenal/Kvar, complete asswipes over there. Check out some of the reputable builders, like ARS. You may pay more but will end up with a quality firearm.

Start with a price point and type that you really like. If what you want can't be found, look for a kit and a good builder. It'll cost more in the end but then again being completely happy with your gun is priceless.

That's great to know. I bought a couple cans of that and haven't opened either of them up yet.

Arsenal is one of the best AK builders out there. The hate for Arsenal is probably related to this: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=352752

69Mach1, would you mind letting me know where I can buy the SA M7 for $900-$1,000. I'm looking for another milled AK and can't find any of Arsenal's milled models for under $1,400.

The Polish model from Century is cheap but doesn't have a chrome lined barrel. I refuse to buy anything Lancaster. The only other one I see is the Vector at about $1,200.

Thanks.

Years of the middle finger and being told your money is worthless will do that to some people, me included. I won't pay that much for a Saiga conversion.
