CGN'ers sometimes wonder if the sheriffs talk w/each other. Well, what do you think?

Since San Benito has a history of being anti CCW (see: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?p=4940636#post4940636), and since its sheriff, Curtis Hill, is the current president of the CA Sheriffs Assoc., I hope CGF considers moving him to the front of the line for "special attention."

Gray has called SF, Alameda, and LA the "Unholy Trinity" as far as obeying our Constitution and laws re. CCWs. Since that is the case, and since Ahern is also a leading player in the CA Sheriffs' Assoc, I hope that CGF factors that in when deciding which of those 3 to go after first.

Knocking these high profile sheriffs down to size may encourage sheriffs "on the fence" to voluntarily capitulate just to avoid a needless headache.

L.A. and Orange.

I wonder if they get in pissing contests and accuse each other of endangering each others Deputies by some being shall issue and others being absolutly No Issue. A CCW from another county is good in L.A. county no matter where it is issued for example. The serfs who live in L.A. have a snowballs chance unless "connected" of getting a CCW but citizens of say Kern county can carry in the downtown L.A. cesspool.

I don't see Margaret Mims (Fresno) on there. She's the one that pretty much made Fresno Co. "shall-issue"

Margaret "I'll gladly issue you a permit in the next year or so, and with a ton of restrictions, right after you jump through all the hoops in my illegal CCW policy" Mims?

ETA: So THATS what you have to do to be a CRPA LEO of the Year!

Not as much as the legal whipping she will get if she doesn't start following the law ( just like all the other rural Sheriff's who cry 'I support the 2A and constitution' and then violate the laws regarding licenses).

I think the more lawsuits the better. Small or large departments, does not matter. The little guys will fall in line as the big guys go down. The more little guys down, the more the big guys are going to realize it's a losing fight, so you might as well start to issue. Ok....It's early friday morning wishful thinking.....

It will probably leave less of a mark than the Sherriffs in Alameda, SF and LA counties will eventually get for their absolutely illegal, "you'll only get a chance to defend yourself if you are rich and connected" CCW policies.

I know many anti-gun types like to state that it is "very unlikely" for someone to NEED to defend oneself, at least statistically. However, there are "rare" people who will prove that one can never know IF self-defense will be needed.

How about this absolutely unlucky young lady, Regina Rohde:

If anyone could use a CCW, I believe that Ms. Rohde fits the description.

Ck out my sig line:
"For 34 examples of CCWs saving lives, click here" and click the link.

It is not always "the other guy" that is a crime victim. With Shall Issue, your choice is whether you choose to be prepared or not. CCWs turn the relationship between a criminal and his victim from predator and prey to two people in a gunfight. Crooks know they'll have a short career if every time they attack, they're playing Russian Roulette, and the odds are 1 out of 25 that either their victim or someone else nearby and may shoot and kill them.

When are we going to "persuade" the 1st Vice President to accept CCW applications?

Initially I didn't realize how many illegal detours to the process she's got going on and thought she was all friendly like Kern...wrong. Don't worry, we'll have some time to work on her, she's not been challenged in this year's election cycle. :)
