Anyone check these out yet.

They are an Armalite design based .308 and knowing this outfit they should be tack drivers.

I have their .308 mini windrunner that is currently a safe queen LOL. Havent seen anything up on the internet on arfcom or snipershide so I thought I would post about it here.

Its fairly priced at 2,800 and EDM is still CA friendly and yes this will be a OLL as it will have EDM markings on it! Oh yeah its DI and not a gas piston.

It always bugs me when people mount one of the scope rings on the handguards. Mount it on the receiver or don't bother. :/

It always bugs me when older guys have more money than me and have cooler toys!

Too many choices for SA 308 to justify a EDM purchase at this point. But the 308 BA variant looks to be the better option.

Very cool rifle. Now are you sure its an Armalite type? Its using DPMS/SR-25 mags.

The Mini Windrunner looks awesome. I would rather have that than a semi auto .308.

If the scope is mounted on any part of the rifle that can move independently from the barrel/receiver than it has the potential for causing inaccuracy. When that rifle is resting on the bipod it is going to flex the freefloat tube/picatinny rail, which in turn will move the scope. What people often don't fully appreciate is the incredibly small amount of movement it takes to move the point of aim. 1/4 MOA is 1/240 of a degree, an angular measurement so small that if you were to draw it in a sharp pencil on a sheet of paper it would look like a single line. A 1 inch group at 100 yards means that every bullet leaving the rifle was within 1/60 of a degree of each other, yet we consider this only mediocre accuracy with a good rifle, and that group was the result of all errors (ammo variations, loading variations. wind. aiming errors by the shooter, aiming errors in the scope, parallax errors, muzzle blast upsetting the bullet, etc. etc.) a little bit of inconsistent scope position due to forearm flex is just a silly thing to have to deal with.

The semi auto or the Windrunner? There is a .338 Lapua Mag Windrunner and I know of a couple semi auto .338 Lapua Magnums.

I am gonna say this is DPMS compatible. Looking at the round cut at the back end of the upper.

Personally I think the rifle would benefit from a continuous top rail with built in MOA elevation say about 20 MOA that would cover elevation out to the max range of the gun without maxing out the scope. They should also consider offering the rifle in other calibers to give them more versatility with a market now pretty much saturated in .308 AR style rifles.

As far as it being Armalite or DPMS style goes, the web page lists the top upper as Armalite and EDM steel so I would venture to say its in a Armalite pattern.

I've got a Windrunner in 50 BMG and give Bill Ritchie a thumbs up. Had the chance to get the mini when it was introduced at a special price and didn't -- been kicking myself ever since and I think the people making them now are charging more than double that. Doh!
