I came by a Troy made front flip-type BUIS sight on the secondary market which did not include the adjustment tool normally sold with the product.
Can anyone tell me how this tool works [ I'm assuming it's for elevation adjustment],and where I can either find a replacement or a similar tool which will do the job ? Perhaps an A2 front sight adjustment tool would work ?
Any help is appreciated.

It uses an AK47/74 front sight adjustment tool.

You can find it Here (http://www.tapco.com/product_information.asp?number=TOOL0301&back=yes&dept=60&last=60)

BTW, the field expedient method is to use a piec of crushed expended brass.

Take care,

Tony

Greetings Tony,
Thanks so much for responding, I'm going to order it straight away.
Exactly how does the tool work on the Troy BUIS to raise elevation ?

its a wrench, you use it to turn the front sight post to move it up or down.

Here is the download page from Troy Industries complete with pictures (http://www.troyind.com/downloads/FBS%20Manual%20Front.pdf)

Here is the basic information I think your asking for:

INSTALATION
1 Remove magazine and clear weapon
2 Unscrew clamp assembly and place sight so as to allow the clamp screw to rest in the forward Picatiny rail cross-slot. Sight should be orientated to fold to the rear.
3 Replace clamp and tighten while pushing sight forward against cross slot

OPERATION
1 To raise the sight grasp and pull up until sight locks in upright position.
2 To fold, depress the button located on the left side of the base and fold.

ZEROING PROCEDURES
1 Fire a group and measure from the point of aim to the point of impact.
2 Adjust the front sight for elevation only. Adjustments can be made with Troy FBS Tool, AK74/47 tool, the crushed neck of 5.56mm empty cartridge, or needle nose pliers.
3 Confirm zero with a group or four aimed shots.

ADJUSTMENT
1 To move the bullet impact up turn sight blade to the right / clockwise.
2 To move the bullet impact down turn the sight blade to the left / counter clockwise.

1/8 Turn / 45 Deg = 1 shift at 100m 1/4" shift at 25m
1/4 Turn / 90 Deg = 2 shift at 100m 1/2" shift at 25m
1/2 Turn /180 Deg = 4 shift at 100m 1 shift at 25m
1 Turn /360 Deg = 8 shift at 100m 2 shift at 25m
