The Sac Sheriff wrote a letter saying the GFSZ law does not apply to CCW holders. However in the letter it says "attention all existing.. permit holders". He did not say "new and existing". Has this been brought to light already? Am I safe once I get my permit or can I be arrested and laughed at when they say "You were not an existing permit holder as of the date of this letter". link to letter below.

Edit: So after re-reading the letter, a reasonable person can assume the GFSZ language will be gone from all new permits as well as the existing. Though, who knows if this will really happen. One will have to wait and see.

New permits wont have the restriction on it. Existing holders should drag around the letter and wave it if questioned. Better to add a gun to the permit and get a new one.

I think having a distinction between two licenses and two kinds of applicants would be grounds for a 14th amendment case... so no, GFSZ are not a concern for licensees whenever they recieved their GOOJFC.
