I can check it out for you if you dont find a place.

But its something you can do yourself, borrow another laptop of pc.

download malwarebtyes, spybot search and destroy, and norton 2011 60 day trail will do fine

Stick them in a usb and plug it inside the infected laptop. Start your pc in safe mode with networking first so you can update those files, run those programs and it should at least stop whats its doing, start your pc normally and check if its still doing it, if not. run the cleaners once again for safe measure :)

Good advice. Also download Combofix to your desktop and run it. Try to run the scanners in safe mode with network support. Push the F8 key when booting to get the safe mode prompt to come up. Also make sure to update the scanners before running full scans. I like Avast Free home edition antivirus.

* not responsible if you mess up your PC more..lol You should be ok though pretty basic stuff.

I can see a revenge against a specific person who wronged them but to randomly attack as many as possible is pathetic. Those nerds should have their computers, in their entirety, shoved up their....

GOT malware ? I think who ever invented malware are smart and great people. It helps many people who are in the internet security field do there job better. Every worm, virus, cookie hijacking, malware helps many.I bet after being infected if you learn how to control it .I bet you will be a expert on not getting it again. PC UPDATES PC UPDATES There is tons to learn on the net. The net is a very dangerous place for people who are not pc shabby. This may be a wake up call for you. Identify theft is serious so is Bank Info . Worms are not out there to make your pc hell. They are out there to infect outer pc and do attacks from your very own system . There are worms that will dial out on lan modems that will charge thousands of dollars on your very own phone bill if you have a dial out modem for a fax. Viva La PC Nerds !!!

Agreed.. it does teach you how to avoid it next time. But I feel there are still too many people out there with computers that have no clue... no anti-virus... no firewall... no etc... that as far as I'm concerned, are the equivalent of drunk drivers on the road.. they are a hazard to others. (especially if they are relatives, friends and co-workers... that think you are a computer geeek and will come over to fix their **** on a moments notice.)

There should be some kind of amplitude test you need to take before buying a computer. ;)

As for the creators of malware, virus's, worms, etc.... they are smart people. People without decent jobs in their field until they get recruited by the unscrupulous or get the idea they can get rich quick by making others lives miserable.
There are times when.. yeah, I wish they would be hunted down and shot... but better yet, hook them up to a electro shock machine that is controlled by a porn site that they hacked and have millions of visitors go to the page and they get shocked for each page visit.

Hmmm... interesting attitude. I guess there should be some sort of aptitude test you need to take before buying a CAR too.

Imagine your poor old mom, driving along at 65 m.p.h. in her new Honda, when suddenly the wheels fall off, because some unemployable brain dead auto mechanic virgin with no life and who never dated someone of the opposite sex found a way to remotely upload a Lug Nut Failure Worm into her car's computer. So her wheels fall of one day when she innocently triggers the worm by simultaneously applying her left turn signal while rolling down her window. She necessarily crashes and dies. Based on your statement above, YOU must support this because your mom just wasn't "smart enough" to own a car. She shouldn't be able to buy a car unless she can do a valve job blindfolded and grind her own camshaft on a lathe, RIGHT?

Computer "nerds" are smart, but only about computers. In life in general, I find them to be so socially retarded, so incredibly dependent on their parents (INTO THEIR 40's!) and so incapable of functioning on a day to day basis that I have to wonder if they weren't the impetus behind the old bumper sticker that surfaced along WITH home computers in the 70's:

"You're ugly, and your mother dresses you funny!"

Ask them to build a doghouse, replace a bathroom faucet or pour a concrete staircase and they'll decline, and default to insults and rants about how they're so much smarter than Bill Gates. What a PATHETIC BUNCH OF GENETICALLY DEFECTIVE, INBRED, MENTALLY DERANGED LOSERS!

There is nothing wrong with the Windows operating system, EXCEPT that "nerds" spend every waking moment of their miserable lives looking for holes in the software to attack to boost their own egos and to validate their worthless lives. They never grew up! They're still trying to score "bonus points" in some imaginary video game by reading on the Net about how many personal computers they ****ed up! God, PLEASE give me the opportunity to administer every point they've earned, with an ice pick!

If I had a dollar for every minute of aggravation I've experienced since 1980 because some pimple-faced, greasy haired, crooked toothed, nasal voiced, *********, anonymous computer nerd found a way to infect one of my computers with some stupid and pointless trojan, worm or virus, I'd buy each of you a new Corvette!

Final thought: I'd bet my bottom dollar that most of them don't vote, and those that do, would vote for Obama!

I used to use windows, and all I used was firefox with adblockplus, and the free avast! Home edition. Kept me clean for years. When my last hdd finally died not long ago (along with the recovery partition) I switched to linux, rather than shell out a small fortune for the latest incarnation of windows. Im much happier with my laptop now, and no longer need antivirus.

Poor analogy. Your likening manufacturing parts to operating parts. If you said you have to know how to work the mirrors, change a tire, etc then you would be right on.

Also, many worms enter the system by someone clicking "cancel" not realizing its a link.

The guy isn't asking you to know how to build a computer, just how to use it properly. A firewall is like a safety on a gun, use it.

So is this aimed at "nerds" who write malware or all computer "nerds"?
Since I work in IT for a live you could classify me as a nerd. But for some reason I don't fit in your stereotype. Nor do almost any of the other "nerds" I know. Maybe you need to get out more.

BTW I prefer the term Geek

+1 on Linux. Been using Unix/Linux since 1984. Haven't ever had a virus.
