View Full Version : Voluntary registration time

I recently sent in the voluntary registration form to DOJ for a handgun I was given. Does any one know roughly how long it will take to hear back from them.
I searched but did not find anything.

Processing those is not high on their list of priority actions.
Except for carrying illegally CCW, (http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/index.php/Firearms_registration#Voluntary_Registration) it doesn't matter whether they ever respond.

Would be nice if they did though. :D
CCW isn't going to happen.

I did it 1 yr ago and took circa 2 months.

When I registered my handguns after I moved back to CA two years ago it took right about ~4-6 weeks to get the confirmation letter.
It took 4 months a couple of years ago.

Sent mine about the third week of April, got my confirmation letter back on June 10th. I resented the fact that I needed to register a pistol that was already legally registered to me but all in all it was an easy, painless process.

My last one took 3 weeks.
