No mystery here. The bullet is spinning from the rifling of the barrel.
When it hits the ice and all the right angles are present, the bullet bounces back and falls to the ice. The low friction of the ice allows the bullet to continue spinning for a short while.

Bet they haven't thought that far. Turned out to be a great experiment.

Cool video. So the bullets are not penetrating the ice, but they aren't ricocheting, so they just spin. Seems weird that they have to search around for them until they find one. Does that mean they do ricochet slightly, like a few feet?

This shot needs to be duplicated on the show Time Warp.

I dont believe it.

Edit- after watching it, the bullet spins in a spot he never shot at. The bullet is spinning in between the cameraman and shooter while the shooter only shot to his right.

Edit2- After watching it again, I guess the bullet is supposed to bounce then spin. Still, I can't believe it. No way, they wouldn't ricochet.

Nope....There would be some form of deformation on the round....Its hitting a solid object.

I know there is moe than just ice in it, but ice is still a major part. FMJ or not, its going to deform at those forces.

Bullet looks way to nice to have ever hit anything, this looks like a job for mythbusters......

Cool video but I just to think it's the real deal.
