View Full Version : Any value to Colt 1911

My Grandfather passed down to me his Commemorative Colt .45 1911. I don't plan on selling as I will pass it to my son. My question is does it have any value other than any old 1911?

You sir, have an astonishingly beautiful piece.
My question is does it have any valve other than any old 1911?
I think you meant value, like in your title? Parts wise, it should essentially be the same as other colts.
As for value, you have a real piece of history. I'm not appraiser so I wouldn't have any idea what its worth but I do know that it will be worth quite a bit. If it was a family heirloom, to me, it would be priceless.

A quick Google on it seems to show it was made in 1970. There was a Pacific Theatre version in addition to your European Theatre version. Value on it was anywhere between $800 and $1600.
