I'm seriously considering a Glock 17C for my next handgun purchase. I currently own a Glock 26 and have been very happy with it.

This would be a recreational shooter. I'm wondering what people's opinions are who have shot the thing before. How effective are the compensator slits for example? Do they actually make a real difference during rapid fire?

Yes, the compensator makes a big difference. I used to have a 23C... I sold it and got a regular ol' 23. I never really liked the huge "V" fireball that came out and blinded me.

I want a 23c so I say go for it. Nice thing about Glocks is they are like Pringles you cant only have one.
