I done some research on this and am just finding them to be over priced everywhere. I was pointed to Reed's and they always seem hi in price. This will be my first HG....looking to get g19. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Thank guys!

I'd highly recommend using Gun Genie on Gallery of Guns (http://www.galleryofguns.com/). I've used it to compare prices. I'd assume they reflect closely to in store prices. I could be wrong though. Anybody chime in on prices on Gallery of Guns versus in store prices?

ya I was looking into GSSF. So once a member you get special pricing. I like that. So do you need to go to a GSSF participant or is all Glock dealers. what is the process. Sorry for the dumb questions.

I'm aslo thinking about buying a Glock (probably 19). From my research on calguns.net I think the only dealer (which takes the GSSF cert/card) that you can get LEO pricing is at LC Actions (http://www.lcaction.com/) in San Jose. Another dealer was mentioned but I couldn't find a name.

Use the forum search tool. It's your friend... ;)

If you're not in a hurry and you don't mind buying a used gun, you can find some good deals in the Calguns marketplace. Plus, you don't have to pay any sales tax!

I think this is the GSSF list that folks were talking about? The list seems to be a little old though, so you may want to call GSSF to see if there are any new shops in the area that aren't on the list?

Bullseye San Rafael has used Glocks for sale at $499.00 a piece. They advertise it's a smoking hot deal. They come without a box and no need to worry about where you left that extra magazine because they don't come with one.

I was at City Arms in Pacifica today and they have a whole row of Glocks lined up. Most were around $550. They have pretty reasonable prices overall and the guys that work there are pretty nice. They're Russian I think guessing by their accent. Great customer service and pretty friendly for a gun shop.

The standard price up until about a year ago or so was around 550 dollars for most models. That is what reeds charged, now though last time I was their it went up to 570.

Going rate at most shops is around the 600 dollar mark before dros and tax.

So unless you want to drive all over the bay for the best price which would waste so much gas just get it locally. I remember seeing one for 600 plus at one shop and said to myself if I really wanted one another shop down the street has it for 35 dollars cheaper.

At LC Action their Glocks are usually the LEO models with the 3 std caps. They'll take those out and give you two 10-rounders when you purchase if you're a civilian buying through GSSF.

Ya reeds lets you rent the gun at there indoor range to see if you like it and when you are ready to purchase the gun they apply the rental fee to your brand new gun(not the rentie) plus they give you a free hour at the range......all for $625 OTD.:D

$625 isn't bad considering what my local gun stores are charging. Prior to me buying my 21SF from Ed's, I would of paid $784 OTD from Field Time Sports. I paid $616 OTD buying from Ed's, and here's what I got: three 10 round magazines, a year membership to GSSF plus some schwag, and next day air shipping.

ya but it was worth the gas and time that is was going to take. realistically all the back and forth would have been about $140 or so. And like I said earlier ive been going to reeds for years. Also I shoot for free at a buddies property not even 10mins from my house so ammo is all i really pay for anymore.

I must be confused. What Reeds are you talking about? Beacause Reeds Indoor Range in San Jose is less than 5 miles from LC Action so the difference in gas and time back and forth would be pretty much nothing.

Ya i was looking there but the only way the price was going to be significantly cheaper was with the GSSF gun purchase program. I just didnt want to wait 6 months to get my GSSF card in the mail. I heard stories of that taking forever.

I think my friend and I got our GSSF cards in a bout 4 weeks. If you e-mail them they are pretty good at getting back in a timely manner too. There is no reason for it to take 6 months unless the application was incomplete or something was messed up.

Either way, enjoy your Glock and I would stll recommend joining GSSF.

The GSSF pistol purchase program changed last April. Previously, LC Action was the only dealer in No. Cal. Now there are a bunch, but you have to call Glock to get the list. "Standard" models (non-compensated, non-long barrel) are now $425 instead of $398. I just got a G17 from Bullseye San Rafael with 3 10-rd mags. Just under $500 OTD after tax & DROS.

GSSF matches are easy and fun, especially if you're new to competition. It's amazing how much hearing a timer beep changes your focus . . .. :D Unfortunately, there are just not enough of them nearby (Davis in Spring, Richmond in Summer, otherwise Reno or further. Bullseye is reportedly trying to set up GSSF indoor matches.

People buy the 9mm because of its less recoil......ok ya but barley. Hey propers on that Golck o lantern hahahaha.

I believe the new policy with the full-size and compact pistols is to include all 3 mags. Sub-compacts still only come with 2. Seems to coincide with the slight bump in price.

Not at LC. I had GSSF call them and they said something about only 2 mags if you purchase a gun in stock. Or they can order one from a "distributor" then it'll come with 3. I bought mine last weekend so too late to order. I was not given that option at the store. Oh well.. kinda pissed since a mag is like 25-30. Nothing I can do now.

Weird thing is, LC Action is a "distributor". Not sure why they can't just give me 3 mags for my 3 hi cap mags. All I know is the GSSF pistol program doesn;t work very well and a few vendor has requested to be removed from the list. Maybe I should;ve tried bullseye!

I was told that you would have to order from them to get the 3 mags? Since i purchased a gun that was already at the store, it was too late to get three mags. GSSF called them and that was what they told them. I think it's BS... cause they should have mags available to swap. Now they can resell the 3 hi cap mags and only have to give me 2 in return!

hqly2001
10-21-2010, 7:01 PM
The other thing to note is that the 3 mag deal seems to be for states that allow hi cap mags. Cause most do come with 3 mags, it's just no one wants to give you 3 10-mags in return. They only want to give two and take three.
