Is Hakan still in business? Can't tell from his web site.

For the best bang (synthetic, G10, paper, canvas, micarta) for your buck... VZ Grips.

Not sure. Since I heard about his grips, his site has always been kind of "homemade".

I have VZ Operators and Aliens on my two 1911s. I was looking at RAASCO Grips, but got a great deal on used grips. Gun porn! :D

Don't forget Ahrends.

For those carbon fiber whores, there's Carbon Creations.

Guess it all depends on what your looking for Fashion or Function. Competition shooting I like the Pachmyer rubber wrap a rounds.
Whatever grips you decide on getting just make sure that they are Ambi cut.

I can't tell you how many hours I have spent looking online at different grips for 1911. There are a ton out there. I'm looking at VZ, Mil-Tac, Raasco, and a few other brands.

Have fun!

All of the mentioned grip options are excellent choices. I tend to lean towards the Esmeralda and VZ grips for my needs.
